Half Marathon to 10K

10,000.00 Goal
11,562.00 Donations Received

It was just seven weeks ago when my dear friend, Kyle, asked me to run a half marathon. It was my very first marathon—and it was with him. I was hesitant at first, mainly due to mom life, work life and the lack of working out. It only took a few days of processing to come to my conclusion: Let’s do this! I had the support of my family and friends, though many questioned, “Who the heck would voluntarily run 13.1 miles?!”

Why run? Why Factor Endurance Network? Why donate?

Have you ever felt something was missing from life? Have you had a feeling where you know you could be doing more for yourself and your community? Something that physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually will align and make you feel whole again?

Fast forward to today and I am now running as much as I can each week. I have less than four weeks to go. I’ve been feeling good...but every time I stepped on the pavement this last month a part of me still did not feel complete. That is where Factor Endurance (FE) comes into my story.

When I met John, the founder of FE, and his wife, Holly, I knew their foundation was something special, something I wanted to help. FE is an organization that raises awareness for bleeding disorders and advocates for health, fitness and endurance sports. John’s story is nothing short of amazing. At just nine months old, he was diagnosed with severe hemophilia, which critically reduces the ability of his blood to clot. It would cause him to bleed severely, even from a slight injury.

John’s extremely rare disease requires medication and treatment. Although there is currently no cure, he’s never let this disease slow him down. And he doesn’t want it to slow down the youth of the world, either. Many people call him a hero. Not only has John competed in several triathlons, marathons, Ironmans and Spartan races, but he’s also helping bring access to a higher quality of life to others affected by a bleeding disorder through his personal mission and story.

So, why donate? From my perspective, I have always felt an inherent moral duty to use what I have to help others. It’s a responsibility that is very much rooted in my personal values and principals from my parents as a young child. Having the power to improve the lives of others has been an immense privilege and one that comes with its own sense of obligation. Giving to others keeps me true to my beliefs: to be happy, to be genuine and to be pure. I often believe that’s why God put me here and I have embraced that responsibility every moment.

By donating, you can make drastically positive changes to someone’s life, while providing a chance to create a better world. Throughout my life, I have been inspired by John and others like him and my hope is that my journey will inspire a few as well. Your donation will make an impact by advancing the growth of FE and for that, we are all forever grateful.

From the bottom of my heart — Thank you. I appreciate each and every one of you!
